You could say Erin and Tim’s first meeting was full of theatrics, literally. Both actors, they were cast in a production at the Chautauqua Playhouse in Carmichael. “Our characters fell in love in the play,” says Erin. “We became friends, continued hanging out after the show had finished and, after a while, began dating.” In addition to the stage, Erin and Tim share a love for all things Disney. After seeing the film Wall-E, Tim bought a little Wall-E robot that moved around and talked. “I thought it was so adorable and didn’t even notice that the robot was holding a ring in its hand until Tim gave it a slight jingle to bring it to my attention.”
As the couple wanted the wedding to be uniquely personal and reflective of them, they happily carried over the Disney theme to the planning. “We didn’t want it to be over-the-top like a kid’s birthday party,” Erin says, “so we just added little Disney touches here and there.”
The bride walked down the aisle of the Woodland Opera House to an instrumental version of “When You Wish Upon A Star.” “We met on stage so it was only appropriate that we got married on stage,” she says.
She recalls their favorite part of the day, when they first saw each other as she walked down the aisle. After reading scriptures to each other and exchanging personalized vows, the happy couple took a jubilant walk down the aisle together. “We stopped and looked at each other and kissed and said ‘we’re married!’” she remembers. “Just having all of our family and friends there made it an incredible day for us!”
Following the ceremony, the guests traveled down the street to the Historic Hotel Woodland for a brunch reception. Having already received programs that resembled Disneyland Park maps, they discovered seating assignments that were just as creatively planned. “Our table names were attractions, so people sat at tables like the Matterhorn, Space Mountain or Pirates of the Caribbean.” Instead of a regular guest book, Erin and Tim had guests fill the pages with how they knew the couple, favorite moments of the day, words of advice and an invitation to draw a picture of them. “Also, we had a lot of kids at our wedding,” Erin notes, “so we had a table that had a bunch of Disney coloring books, card games, etc., so that the kids would have something fun to do as well,”
Naturally, Mickey and Minnie (a gift from her parents via Disneyland Paris) topped a colorful tiered wedding cake with a groom’s cake resembling a personalized Mouseketeer hat sitting nearby. At the end of the evening, guests also walked away with a CD full of their favorite Disney songs. Could there be just one perfect word to sum up this day?

Any tips you'd give to brides and grooms planning their wedding: Start your planning ASAP -- we made a point to do things early so that we weren't super stressed out at the end. Don't be afraid to ask friends or family for help -- we got a lot of help from ours!
Remember what and who the day is about and what is really important. It's about the couple so everything should be about the couple together. Also don't sweat the small stuff. There will be things that don't go exactly as planned, but in the end, you still got married and that's all that counts, right?!
Anything else about your wedding? We really loved our personal Disney touches that made our wedding uniquely us! We designed our program like a Disneyland Park Map and our table names were names of Disneyland attractions. The best thing about our wedding was that we planned it together, and we loved everything about it!
What would you have done differently if you had the chance? We would have packed for our honeymoon in advance. That was the plan all along but it just didn't happen so we ended up doing it all after we got home from the wedding and had about five hours to do it all before catching our plane!
