The story of Josh and Kasey Twist reads like a classic Hollywood romance. Beautiful leading lady, dashing leading man, and a chance encounter complete with a pratfall. Sometimes it doesn’t just happen in the movies! Kasey and her family were watching her brother compete in a golf tournament, and wandered over to watch Josh, a friend of her brother’s, play a sudden death round. As they were walking along the hole, Kasey was so busy watching Josh that she ran right into her mom (and hit her hard enough to knock the gum out of her mouth). “I guess I must have thought he was really cute,” says Kasey. You think?

Josh and Kasey met officially in Rancho Murieta in May of 1999, introduced by Kasey’s brother, Josh’s golfing buddy. After running into each other a few more times, Kasey decided to call Josh. That’s when the chemistry kicked into high gear. They spoke on the phone for three nights straight, from nine in the evening until sunrise each time. (No, this isn’t a Doris Day and Rock Hudson movie. This really happened!) On the third night, Josh asked her to be his girlfriend. Despite going to different high schools, and Kasey leaving to attend college in San Francisco, they have been together ever since. Which isn’t surprising; ties as strong as Kasey and Josh’s are pretty hard to break.

There was more silver screen romance to come when Josh proposed. On February 8, 2007, Josh had taken Kasey to see the celebrity golf tournament at Pebble Beach. Driving up Highway 1 toward Carmel, Josh stopped the car by the beach saying that he wanted to see the ocean at sunset. Kasey thought he was acting strangely, but wasn’t sure why. “He walked around the car and opened my door and got down on one knee…I was completely shocked! I said yes, and the rest is history.” Cut! Print! Kasey and Josh make Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy look like Veronica and Archie.

Spoiler alert: Kasey and Josh got married, in their own better-than-Hollywood style. After scouring California for locations, they decided to go back to where they first met and their relationship began, in Rancho Murieta. “We never thought that nine years later we would be married and celebrating it at the same spot,” says Kasey. They kept their wedding very traditional, but with their own special touches. Before Kasey’s grandmother passed away, they were very close. To honor her grandmother and make her part of their special day, Kasey had her grandmother’s wedding gown sewn into hers. Kasey’s chapel-length dress and veil was the perfect vintage touch that gave her that special, understated silver-screen glamour. Josh and his groomsmen, big fans of Nike SB shoes, chose them in colors to match the day and wore them with their tuxedos. And, instead of their guests signing a guest book, they signed Kasey and Josh’s engagement photo. Kasey says, “We really did have our dream wedding.”

What more can we say except that they drove off into the sunset and lived happily ever after? The End!
