Did you know that in all of the photo shoot features that we do, we use real brides (and grooms, too!) as our models? It’s true! We love that these real brides are going through their wedding planning journey, just like you!

Now you get to learn a little bit more about our beautiful bride, Elizabeth Fox! Elizabeth rocked our “What’s Your Wedding Season: Spring” photo shoot from the Summer/Fall 2014 issue! Isn’t she foxy (sorry, we couldn’t resist!)?

Thank you for being such a great Real Weddings real bride model, Elizabeth! Take it away:

Real Weddings: What made you want to model for this shoot?

Elizabeth Fox: I think everyone wants to feel like a princess for the day, and I am no different. While I enjoy working in a lab, due to safety regulations, I’m pretty much forced to wear old jeans and sneakers every day. Being a model for this shoot was such a wonderful reprieve from my routine. Instead of my typical drab attire, I was blessed with the chance to wear one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen! I actually felt like more than a princess—I felt like a queen!

RW: What was your favorite part of modeling?

EF: My favorite part of modeling was all of the encouragement and excitement from everybody involved. Everyone on set was really supportive and made me feel so beautiful. I felt very confident, and all of the wonderful people that made the shoot possible made the experience so amazing. It was so much more than I had imagined!

RW: What was your favorite part of this shoot? Did you relate to the season you represented?

EF: I was so in love with the setting; so much so, it made me reconsider all of my own choices for my wedding! The beautiful garden and towering trees made for a very whimsical scene. Additionally, the lush green grass and beautiful flowers were fittingly spring. I think spring is such a great season for marriage: It is a season of renewal, and a great time to celebrate love.

RW: What do you do for a living?

EF: I am currently a graduate student researcher at UC Davis, where I am working to obtain my PhD in immunology. My research focuses on studying the immune system in families with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). I am not really sure how I was lucky enough to find myself in this field, but it is such a rewarding job, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to help families of children with ASD.

RW: Tell us about your own wedding?

EF: My Fiancé Adam and I will be getting married in the fall at Lehman Barn in El Dorado Hills. We’ve decided on gray, blush, and a metallic color (to bring in a little sparkle) as our wedding colors. We are planning a relatively small ceremony and reception, surrounded by close friends and family. As far as decoration, I want it to be very romantic and vintage; there will definitely be a lot of milk glass and so many paper poms! But most of all, I just want it be a lasting, wonderful memory for our family, friends and us.

RW: What did Adam and the rest of your family think about you doing this?

EF: Adam hates to have his picture taken, so the idea of being photographed for four-plus hours, sounded like torture to him. He jokingly claims our engagement shoot was the worst day of 2013. Nevertheless, he was very happy because he knew how ecstatic it made me to be given such an amazing opportunity. Of my family, my mom was the most excited. When I finished the shoot I came back to about 15 text messages from her, and I think she is more eager than I am to see the photos from the shoot! Everyone is very excited for the magazine to come out, and I’m so glad I get to share all these beautiful pictures with them.
