Sacramento Wedding Inspiration: What's Your Wedding Season - Fall {Get to Know: Katherine Storm}

Did you know that in all of the photo shoot features that we do, we use real brides (and grooms, too!) as our models? It’s true! We love that these real brides are going through their wedding planning journey, just like you!

Now you get to learn a little bit more about our gorgeous bride, Katherine Storm! Katherine rocked our “What’s Your Wedding Season: Fall” photo shoot from the Summer/Fall 2014 issue! Isn’t she lovely?

Thank you for being such a great Real Weddings real bride model, Katherine! Take it away:

Real Weddings: What made you want to model for this photo shoot?

Katherine Storm: Wendy chose me for this shoot and when she asked me if I would be willing to do it, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. I know that it will be a cherished memory and the pictures are going to be something I can show my children and say, “Hey, I was a model for a second!”

RW: What was your favorite part of modeling?

KS: It sounds vain but my favorite part was having all the attention on me! There are only a few opportune moments in life when you get that kind of attention and it made me feel special and beautiful. Everyone at the shoot kept complimenting my natural features like my eyes and body and I felt like a star.

RW: What was your favorite part of this shoot? Did you relate to the season you represented?

KS: My favorite part of the shoot was when I was standing by the dinner table. It really made it feel like a whole wedding even though it was just a table. My look was very dramatic and season appropriate, but the props really made it feel complete with the colors of the flower arrangements and dinner sets. I am actually more of a summer girl because I love sunshine, but in the fall the colors are so beautiful. I have always appreciated autumn for that and the shoot definitely felt right for the fall.

RW: What do you do for a living?

KS: I work at lulus.com, an online clothing store for women. I work in the fulfillment section of the warehouse. I love it there.

RW: Tell us about your own wedding.

KS: I’m having yellow sunflowers everywhere with some roses and the accent color is bright red with a lot of natural colors to fill in. I really like the combination of sunflowers and lace so there will be plenty of that everywhere. I really want it to have a shabby chic feel with the decorations, and the food is going to be really light so it will feel like a nice garden party.

RW: What did your fiancé and family think about you doing this?

KS: My fiancé and family all thought it was a great idea! I have been so excited for it and they have all been supportive of it. My mom even came with me to the shoot!
